Get Those Objections In By 18th July!!
(note - date extended)
What can you say? Well -
1. Glascote Heath already has an Open Space / people ration well below what Guidance requires. Taking more of our Open Space will make it worse. It is counter to Local Plan policy to build on this Greenfield site.
2. Chopping down the wood will destroy a wildlife habitat(helps to find a bat there - if not a panda!!) - not to mention trees that have been there for hundreds of years. The trees were a natural barrier to noise from the A5.
3. The noise of the Fire Engines will further disturb the Kirtley residents - as will their training sessions.
4. Whatever Highways Dept. might say (after all the applicant County is their employer!) the use of the Silver Link for regular use by Fire Engines is not a good idea. Fully laden the Engines will damage the road humps and the humps will damage the Engines.
And a suggestion?? 5. Other sites that may be considered suitable are the Doulton’s site (surely the best?), Amington Phase one site or proposed Employment land off the A5 slip road leading to Ventura Park.
And anything else you may think of!
Here are some Local Plan Statements to help you with objections

Can the Firemen douse this heated response from Glascote Heath Residents?

The Labour Councillors’ Surgery
Cllr Dennis Powick is on the Planning Committee and so cannot take sides here. But Other Labour Councillors certainly can! Including the County Councillor. And they have a surgery on Saturday 24th June at St Peter’s Church, 11.00am. I have been invited too (thanks Dennis!) and will be there. This is an issue where we can work together.
Note :- This page will be updated as the situation develops.
